The La Crosse Youth & Learning Center offers homework help, Hocak language class, prevention education, culture activities, and recreational activities.
- Recreational activities are offered at least four times a week
- Homework help or tutoring is offered five days a week
- Prevention education is offered once a week
- Language classes are offered four times a week
- Youth Council meetings once a month for students age 12 - 18
- We offer incentives for students that attend on a regular basis and attend our prevention presentations
- Our preventions include; personal hygiene, AODA, nutrition, exercise, fire safety and are age appropriate.
- We will be implementing a sewing class
- We try to do a community service activity such as: cleaning elders yards, picking up trash around the building, our annual Polar plunge, proceeds go to Special Olympics
- We have also implemented Big Brother Big sister program in our center, with many students matched
- We also have volunteer college students from three local colleges that tutor our youth.
- We service the La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen & West Salem School Districts
Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00 am-7:00 pm
Summer and No School days hours 9:00 am- 5:00 pm
We will have two Saturdays a month for the "Bigs" (Bigs are the older youth they request more time without the "Littles" around)
