Representatives are elected to staggered four year terms. Members of the Legislature are elected by a majority vote of the elgible voters from their respective Districts. The thirteen (13) officials represent a total of 7,253 enrolled tribal members - 5,102 members that reside within Wisconsin counties and 2,151 members that reside outside of Wisconsin.
The Legislature represents the Ho-Chunk Nation and it's people and acts in all matters that concern the welfare of the Nation. The Ho-Chunk Nation Legislature consists of thirteen (13) elected representives from five (5) districts. The Legislature selects from its members a Vice President to serve throughout such Member's term.
